Dumb as a brick

If you are using Internet Explorer you are dumb as a brick.

Yet another major security flaw is exposing Internet Explorer users to hackers, identity theft and them as morons.

I am being harsh. My mom uses IE and my wife has to use IE due to corporate policies.

But just because most people like to play with a load gun, doesn’t mean you should to.

As I told yet another friend whom I converted to using a Mac, the slogan for Microsoft should read…

Like playing with a loaded gun, only funnner! (mispelling intended)

For web developers the real fun will start when people begin using Internet Explorer 7 beta preview, as recommended in the linked article.

What is a beta preview anyway?

Looks like none of the ports of Origami to Wordpress were finished.

Leevi says he is working on an even better theme for WP.

We Mac users shouldn’t be quite so smug – there’s another security flaw just been found in Safari…

Yes. Another image has been found to crash and burn Webkit. But IE users due to the flawed security design in Windows are actually susceptible to complete meltdown.

If Windows and IE were secured to the level of Mac OS X, spam zombies and malware wouldn’t be so profitable and common.

I am smug about this issue, because to date none of the flaws in Safari or OS X have amounted to a hill of beans. But you can count in the millions and perhaps billions of dollars what IE has cost businesses of over the years.

Some day Mac users will be burned by a flaw. The damage will be greatly mitigated by OS X security design and proper use of the system.

The difference is we don’t live in a glass house, perhaps a straw house. Windows is a shatter glass house already.
